Whom do I call or email?
1. What is eWomenPublishingNetwork and what is the purpose of the
publishing conference?
eWomenPublishingNetwork is an organization dedicated to helping women who
want to become non-fiction authors get successfully published, and helping
women who already are non-fiction authors get more successfully promoted.
One purpose of the conference is to educate women on the realities of the
publishing world so they can make educated choices in the journey they choose
to become authors. Another purpose is to help women make the right
connections within the publishing world to give them all the resources
possible to make their journey a successful one. At the conference you
will meet other women who are striving to become authors and many who have
been before and are back to celebrate their new books.

2. I am an aspiring author but haven't started my book yet. Am I ready for
a conference like this?
We are always excited to work with people just starting to think about their books because we can jump-start that process and give them the knowledge they need to do it right the first time. We'll help you figure out if your ideas are marketable, who your most likely audience is, and how best to leverage your intellectual property to maximize your success. You will leave knowing if now is the right time for you to work on a book or other products, and exactly how to do it when you are ready.

3. I'm already an author. What will I get out of this conference?
Many authors aren't completely satisfied with their promotional efforts and sales results. If you are in that category, then we can help you re-examine your audience for the book and help you reposition your book for that audience. We can also connect you with the best marketing and PR minds in the business and we know you will hear some new strategies from our experts and fellow authors that might spark just the right new idea to take you to the next level of success. We have many authors who return year after year to the conference for the camaraderie, the inspiration, and the newest ideas in book marketing.

4. What if I attended last year? Is it the same material and is it worth coming to the conference again?
Definitely come back to the conference. They are never the same two years in a row, and we work to create new experiences for those who come back year after year. There are changes in the publishing industry, new technology that requires new strategies, and most of all, you don't want to miss seeing the authors and aspiring authors you connected with last year. We promise you won't be disappointed!.

5. Does the conference cover publishing all types of books? I'm writing a novel and
my friend is writing a children's book.
No, it is specifically intended to help authors of non-fiction books and other products connected with them such as audio products and seminar workbooks. We wish we could have conferences for authors of fiction books, children's books and other types, but there is just too much material to cover all types of books in two days, and the publishing journey can be quite different for these types of projects.

6. Is the conference only for women?
The conference is definitely not only for women, although women make up about 95% of the attendees.

7. I'm considering self-publishing. Am I still a good candidate to attend?
Absolutely. About half of our participants intend to find a traditional publisher and the other half intend to self-publish. We do cover the self-publishing process step-by-step, which is also beneficial for anyone who wishes to traditionally publish, to fully understand the steps in the publishing process. We also cover in detail what it takes to create a successful book proposal, and again, even those self-publishing need to understand what should go into their publishing plan, whether they need to do a proposal or not.
First and foremost, we help you discern your audience and position in the market, realistically assess the costs and benefits of becoming an author, and develop your author platform - things every aspiring author and author will benefit from!

8. I know I'm going to publish with a traditional publisher. Won't they help me through the entire process? Will I benefit from attending this conference?
About 15 years ago, you might have learned everything you needed to know from your publisher. The publisher handled the business and marketing end, and you just wrote a great book. Times have really changed, and it is important to know what you can expect from your publisher and what you can't. Most aspiring authors expect they will get organization and editorial help from the publisher - only minimally true now. And more importantly, most expect the publisher will handle the marketing burden - not true. The more informed you are about what to expect, the more you can get ready to do what you need to to make the book a success. The author is the main person responsible for the success of the book.

9. How can I be considered to be one of the authors/aspiring authors willing to be on the "hot seat" and put my book to the test?
If your book or book project meets our criterion (we are looking for variety of types of books and authors who are up for some fun!), you might be selected for participation.

10. Do I need to be a member of eWomenNetwork or eWomenPublishingNetwork to attend the Conference?
No, you don't need to be a member of either organization to attend.

11. How does the Conference Bookstore & Publishing Connections Lounge work and how can I include my book or other products?
Books by the speakers and other important books and products such as DVDs and CDs that we think would be valuable for the participants at the Conference are included in the Conference Bookstore. The Publishing Connections Lounge is a networking area for book professionals, authors and aspiring knowledge to spend time with each other in an author community.
